2025 Presidency: Are Tchiroma & Maigari’s Bid-Strategy or Genuine ?
Political analyst suggests the presidential ambitions of Tchiroma and Maigari could be a coordinated move to mislead Cameroonians.
The presidential race for 2025 has taken a surprising twist following the announcements by Issa Tchiroma Bakary and Bello Bouba Maigari to run for the top office. Their declarations have ignited controversy and raised questions about their true motives.
A Hidden Political Agenda?
Political observer and university lecturer Professor Akumbom Macanthony believes these candidacies are not genuine. According to him, the moves are part of a well-orchestrated political strategy designed to distract the public.
While some analysts suggest their departure could weaken the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), Professor Akumbom argues the opposite.
“It’s possible that the FSNC, UNDP, and CPDM are working together to deceive the population,” Professor Akumbom claimed.
He emphasized that Tchiroma and Maigari’s long-standing ties to the ruling system cast doubt on their sudden breakaway.
“They have been part of the system for decades. Their recent moves raise serious questions about their real intentions,” he added.
Public Debate Intensifies
The professor’s comments have triggered a wave of public debate, with many Cameroonians questioning whether these political figures are truly offering an alternative, or if this is simply another layer of political manipulation.
As the 2025 presidential election draws near, the nation will be watching closely to see if Tchiroma and Maigari can convince the public of their sincerity—or if the theory of political staging gains ground.
